Be Auto Theft Aware

Lake Clarke Shores is a safe place to live and the Police Department does all it can, but criminals are always active and looking for an opportunity. Recently there has been an extraordinary amount of vehicle burglaries in Palm Beach County most of these cases, the doors to the cars were not locked. We ask you to please lock your car doors, removing that convenient opportunity to steal.

Keep these security tips in mind:

  • Always lock your car and remove all belongings from your vehicle

  • Take all keys and wireless fobs with you.

  • Take all valuables (purses, wallets, weapons, computers, etc.) with you inside every night.

Frequently Targeted Items are:

  • Phones

  • tablets

  • Purses/Handbags/Wallets

  • Money

  • Weapons

  • Diaper bags

  • Laptops

  • Gym bags

  • Backpacks

If you see people in the area who do not look like they belong in your neighborhood, do not hesitate to give the police a call. If you see a vehicle driving repeatedly around your block or up and down your street, please call the Police. Burglars are not gender specific. If there are keypads, have a complicated pass code. 1, 2, 3, 4, is not a good code. Remember most crime is a crime of opportunity, the bad guys are looking for the easiest one to commit.

Criminals will drive around an area and come back later once they identified a victim. Don’t be that victim. Call the police right away about suspicious vehicles or persons in the area.

Please be sure to lock your vehicles and not leave your valuables in your car or in plain sight.
