Officer Chris Fisher has given his notice and will be moving to the West Palm Beach Police Department. We wish him all the best and hope he comes back to visit during our events.
Water Plant Phone System
Staff was able to use the new Town Hall VoIP phone system for the Water Plant at no additional cost. Further, staff updated the security system and eliminated two plain old phone system landlines saving the Utility almost $750 per month.
FRED PACE Board Meeting
FRED had a Board of Directors meeting here at Town Hall February 21, 2018. Bill Spivey, the Executive Director reported that FRED had over three million homes within the District and had made more than $4.5M in loans. The FRED corporate offices are now in Winter Springs. The FRED Board at the recommendation of the Executive Director has approved a methodology for staff to evaluate and add additional commercial and residential Program Administrators (similar to Renovate or Ygrene).
25th Annual Lake Clarke Shores BBQ
Planning is underway for the 25th Annual BBQ scheduled for April 8th. The BBQ will be bigger and better this year. The Planning Committee has approved changes to the children's games and play area, food service and vendor areas, the antique car show and we have added more hot dogs. Please save the dates; Friday April 6th for movie night (Coco) and Sunday, April 8th for the BBQ. Remember, home baked goods are always welcomed Sunday.
Hydrilla Treatment in the Lake Clarke
Palm Beach County DERM treated the Lake last Monday (March 5th) with a product called SONAR. SONAR is toxic to plants and will kill the Hydrilla. Notices have gone out warning against watering your yard from the Lake during this treatment period. It may take several treatments to rid the Lake of the Hydrilla. Palm Beach County will keep us apprised and we will change the signs, Twitter, Facebook and the website as appropriate. SONAR will not be used in the canals and therefore, the canal water will not be affected.
Thank you all for your patience during the boil water problems this last month. We learned a lot during the challenge about what we can do better. We're working on a new communication plan. CodeRED will be a key part of the new plan. Please sign up for CodeRED on our website.
