In Case You Missed It ~ Council Actions

In case you missed it, below are the Council Actions taken at the July 15, 2014 Town Council meeting:

Approved the Minutes of the June 10, 2014 Town Council Meeting.

Approved the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement between Palm Beach County and the Town of Lake Clarke Shores to participate in the Urban County Program for FY 2015 - 2017 which will enable the Town to access funds under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program and Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) Program as a part of the Palm Beach County Entitlement Jurisdiction. In addition, by participating with the County, the Town will be automatically eligible to receive any economic stimulus or disaster recovery funding, which is distributed to the County by the Federal Government.

Approved a forfeiture expenditure in an amount not to exceed $3,825.00 for the purchase of a new in-car video system for the new police vehicle used by the Lake Clarke Shores Police Department.

Approved the “Memorandum of Understanding for Crime Scene Technology” between the Town of Lake Clarke Shores Police Department and Palm Beach State College Department of Criminal Justice and Crime Scene Technology.

Presentation of the 2012-2013 Fiscal Year Audit by Ron Bennett, Senior Manager, Nowlen, Holt & Miner, P.A.

Presentation of the Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2014/2015 by William Thrasher, Financial Director, including the following:

• 2013/2014 Millage Rate
• Setting Tentative Millage Rate for Fiscal Year 2014/2015
• Rolled Back Millage Rate
• Date for the First Public Hearing (September 9, 2014) on the proposed Millage and Budget
• Date for Second Public Hearing (September 23, 2014) to adopt Millage and Budget.

Approved the First Reading of Ordinance #14-04 - Establishing a new Chapter 58, Article VI, Wastewater Special Assessments for the commercial sewer system on Forest Hill Boulevard.
