Loop Around the Lake
Our run consultant has suggested June 14th, the day before Father’s Day, as the date for the run. The feedback we got on the date was that it will be too hot. We are therefore thinking of a Veterans Day weekend run. More details to come.
Forest Hill Boulevard Commercial Sewer System Design
We will be asking the Town Council to renew the annual agreement with AECOM and to approve the Task Order to design the FHB Sewer system. Timing is critical on this project as the owner of the Forest Hill Boulevard Plaza is requesting we be prepared to provide sewer service February 1st, 2015. The new system must be designed, permitted, constructed and certified for service before February 1 next year.
Other Grant Opportunities
Enginuity Group has prepared a 6-year $1.4M Road Improvement Plan. We are pursuing state grant monies with Representative Kerner and Senator Clemens. The Mayor attended Palm Beach County Days to discuss this grant and the FRDAP Grant.
In January, Town staff met with South Florida Water Management District to review the lake and contributing waterways. They revised their C-51 Basin Study Model based on data collected during the review. The new model was submitted to FEMA ahead of the February 28th deadline and will get incorporated into a new revised FEMA map. The new model shows the Town having very few at risk properties!
Utility Building Construction
The building certificate of occupancy is being held up by the PBC Building Department pending the acceptance of the Plat. The Plat Mylar is in house and will be signed after the Council Meeting and submitted to PBC Engineering.
Lake Clarke Shores Utility South Service Area
The second phase of the CDBG Grant has been designed and bid. The lowest bid is greater than the grant amount. Palm Beach County gave us the option of adding dollars to the grant funds and completing the project as bid or reducing the scope of the project to meet the budget. We feel the work needs to be completed and it will cost the Town less if the additional work is done as part of this contract. We have informed the County we will transfer $29,795 to the County so they can award the entire contract as bid.
